FTD Recognizes "The Festival That Wasn't" and "The Festival That Is"

Each year the First Town Days Festival Committee selects something or someone in the community, Tuscora Park, or the festival itself to recognize through our commemorative plate. This year we are doubling down on that tradition by presenting not one, but two plates that will represent the Festival and Tuscora Park directly. In consideration of the 2020 First Town Days “Festival That Wasn’t” and our return for 2021, we are “Welcoming Back” all of our friends and the community as a whole to celebrate the July Fourth Weekend with us at Tuscora Park. These two plates serve to remind us of how much our traditions mean to us but also how sometimes life gets interrupted. They also show that we can persevere as individuals and as communities. We are back!

We hope you will join us for our Opening Ceremonies and the Annual Plate Auction Thursday July 1st at 6 p.m. at the Al Maloney Midway Stage to help kick off our plate sale supporting the First Town Days Scholarships and Park Projects.

This year’s artist, Jim Celuch, is well known for his excellent work and artistry as a photographer. He is a longtime resident of New Philadelphia and has strong ties to the community as well as the First Town Days Festival having provided several of our plate designs over the years. Jim is the owner of Celush Creative Imaging in New Philadelphia specializing in commercial and advertising photography, graphic design, and website development. The First Town Days Festival Committee cannot thank Mr. Celuch enough for all of his contributions to and support of First Town Days throughout the years.
