As of 9 March 2020, Ohio began having confirmed cases of the CoViD-19 (coronavirus) in the state of Ohio. Since that time the virus has quickly spread to all parts of the state. Soon thereafter, the State of Ohio impemented a state website to provide timely inforamtion to its residents. Coronavirus Vaccine Information
In December 2020 two COVID-19 vaccines were approved on an emergency basis for use agaisnt the COVID-19 virus. These vaccines were produced by Pfizer and by Moderna. At that time, the New Philadelphia City Health Department (NPCHD) began vaccinating individuals within the community as per the federal mandate and guidelines. Since that time, a third vaccine was approved, from Johnson and Johnson (J&J).

Coronavirus -- Brief History and Information
In late 2019, numerous individuals in and around Wuhan, China came down with a new type of respiratory illness. Since that time, the virus has spread in and around Wuhan, as well as to other countries. At present, the virus is being called a novel Coronavirus (nCoV), in that is was part of the coronavirus family. The virus has subsequently been named CoViD-19, for Corona Virus Disease 2019, or CoViD-19.
The New Philadelphia City Health Department (NPCHD) wants the residents of New Philadelphia to have the most up-to-date information available. Also, NPCHD understands that in this age of cyber-news, there is a lot of disinformation. NPCHD wants to provide the most accurate information that is currently available.
