To report a communicable disease or any suspected outbreak of a disease in the City of New Philadelphia during normal business hours (Monday through Friday 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., excluding holidays) please call (330) 364-4491 ext.1208 and ask to speak with the communicable disease nurse.
Ohio Revised Code requires all laboratories, physicians, healthcare professionals and hospitals to report suspected and confirmed cases of certain communicable diseases to the local health department. The communicable disease nurse at the New Philadelphia City Health Department is responsible for the review and investigation of emerging and reportable infectious diseases within the city of New Philadelphia.
Program Objectives:
Coordination with the Tuscarawas County Health Department as well as other county health departments and the Ohio Department of Health is an ongoing and integral component to the successful operation of this program.

To report a communicable disease or any suspected outbreak in the city of New Philadelphia after hours, please call the New Philadelphia Police Department nonemergency number at (330) 343-4488 and let them know that you have an after-hours emergency and need to speak with the Health Department.
