To Serve and Protect

The New Philadelphia Police Department serves the citizens of the city as well as visitors, by providing a safe environment in which to live and do business.  We have 22 sworn officers and four full-time dispatchers/jailers.  In addition we provide a school resource officer, K9 unit, detectives bureau and a SRT team to ensure the safety of our city.

Chief Michael Goodwin

Chief Michael Goodwin was born and raised in New Philadelphia.  He graduated from New Philadelphia High School and Buckeye Career Center in 1979, and the Ohio Police Academy in 1983.  Chief Goodwin has been a police officer with the city since 1990 and has been serving as Chief since 2013.
