Notice
is hereby given that a civil service examination will be administered
for the position of Police Officer, New Philadelphia Police
Department, City of New Philadelphia, Ohio on Wednesday, July 23,
2008, at 7:00 P.M., E.S.T., in the Tuscora Park Pavilion, Tuscora
Park, located at Tuscora Park, 161 Tuscora Avenue N.W., New
Philadelphia, Ohio.
A
written examination will be administered at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday,
July 23, 2008, in the Tuscora Park Pavilion, Tuscora Park, located at
Tuscora Park, 161 Tuscora Avenue N.W., New Philadelphia, Ohio. Those
applicants who pass the written examination must pass an agility test,
to be given at a later date.
Before
being hired as a Police Officer, all training must be completed and
certification as a Peace Officer in the State of Ohio must be
obtained. Such certification must be filed prior to hiring. Applicants
must be 21 years of age. Veterans of the armed forces must file a true
copy of their discharge as there will be applied a credit for military
service to the written examination score as provided by law.
Those
interested in taking the test shall apply by completing a "New
Philadelphia Employment Application" and "Civil Service
Examination Application" form available at the Administrative Assistant’s Office, Suite 102,
on the second floor of the John Knisely Municipal Centre, 150 East
High Avenue, New Philadelphia, Ohio, or online at www.newphilaoh.com.
Both applications shall be returned to Greg Popham, Safety Director, John
Knisely Municipal Centre, 150 East High Avenue, New Philadelphia,
Ohio, 44663, no later than Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at 3:30 P.M.
