The City Auditor’s Office functions under the direction of City Auditor, Beth Gundy. Beth has over two decades of service with the City of New Philadelphia serving as City Auditor since 1996. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from The Ohio State University.
The City Auditor serves as the Fiscal Officer of the City of New Philadelphia, whose duties include maintaining city financial records such as general ledger records, and reporting the city’s financial position to the Auditor of State and City Council. The Auditor maintains all the funds of the city, records all revenues and expenses, and reports monthly and annually to all department heads and City Council. The Auditor also attends both Council finance committee meetings and regular Council sessions.
The Auditor is also responsible for the accounting of fixed assets, payroll preparation, along with the pension fund and tax reporting, accounts payable, and managing the city’s bonded and noted debt.
