Specific Functions of the Human Resources Department
- Manage employee benefits: health, life, Workers’ Compensation
- Process all personnel actions: promotions, merit increases, and performance appraisals
- Recruit, interview and test for position vacancies
- Provide training for City employees
- Direct the Training and Education Program
- Administer and coordinate discipline and grievance procedures
- Manage the Employee Safety Program
- Play an active role in Union contract negotiations
